Cheapest kitchen cabinets being the most popular for cheaper supplies, they want something that is cheap but still looks good. The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA), has made is a requirement for other countries to update the quality of the cabinets and make them more durable. Most cabinets were made from fiberboard or particleboard; most of the cabinets would bubble or break when there was too much moisture around them. Now, because of these new requirements, cheap cabinets are being made with plywood sides, and solid wood face doors. Name brand cabinets from the U.S. were about two to three times more expensive then the imported ones. Cheaper cabinets tend to have only about five different styles, so if you want a very unique style most likely you will have to pay more money for them. The cheaper cabinets also are usually harder to assemble, whereas the more expensive, or name brand, cabinets usually just take a screw driver to assemble. The best thing is to sit and think what you want for your kitchen and then go and take a look around at your options. Kitchen cabinet makers began looking for less expensive ways to build their products. Cabinet manufacturers looked into making their product overseas. The standard association known as KCMA (Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association) held the manufacturers to a higher standard of accountability. The KCMA began requiring manufactures to use better materials of higher quality and endurance. Cabinets had been made primarily of fiberboard or particleboard and staples and dowels held them together. With the veneer surface over the cabinets, they began buckling and warping over time and exposure to water. These cabinets made overseas did not compare to the ones being made in the USA. Now cabinet manufacturing must meet the KCMA standards. Cabinets are being made of solid plywood sides, solid wood faces and door frames with cam locks holding them together. RTA (discount kitchen cabinets) are not cheap any longer. The higher standard to which they are being held is causing more and more companies to import these products, trusting the new-found integrity of the product and keeping the cost down by 2-3 times the amount of the USA product. Some drawbacks of RTA cabinets include: less styles to choose from, (typically 5-6) and they must be bought as they are called – RTA (ready to assemble) which for some consumers, is a challenge in time and labor. Most RTA cabinets require only a screwdriver to assemble, however. Now when choosing between cheapest kitchen cabinets, don’t let the retail price fool you. This was in the knockdown and the pre-assembled kitchen cabinets. There are some drawbacks to getting discounted cabinets. Most of the manufacturers of these cabinets only carry about 5-6 different styles and finishes. This of course limits your choices. In order to get discounted cabinets at the cheapest prices you had to buy them ready to assemble. The good news about the discounted cabinets is that the cam lock assembly makes it so easy that you only need a screwdriver to build them. It is always important to plan your budget before designing or redesigning your kitchen cabinets. There are so many styles and designs to choose from. You can get many at a fair price. This many seem to be a bargain to you at first but then, in the long run, they can be more expensive. They will most probably need to be replaced or repaired a lot sooner than a more expensive cabinet so also shop around and find what you are looking for, price wise and quality wise.

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) made an effort to bring overseas cabinets, also known as ready to assemble (rta) cabinets up to standards. The usual quality of the before product were made with inferior materials and workmanship, such as: fiberboards, particle boards, dowels and staples. These cabinets were also made with veneer surfaces that did not hold up in the kitchen environment—ie: water. The overseas manufacturers stepped up their quality of product. Cabinets of value from overseas manufacturers are now being built with solid plywood sides, solid wood frames and doors. They even have cam lock assemblies that require only a screwdriver to assemble them. There is now a more competitive edge to kitchen cabinets. US manufacturers were charging much more than the overseas manufacturers. Big box stores are carrying these rta cabinets. For the largest value buy them ready to assemble, which requires much more time and effort, yet also showcase your talents both in value and end product. Be aware though these cabinets come in limited styles and finishes. When shopping for cheapest kitchen cabinets be sure to give the ready to assemble value cabinets a glance.
